Over the past decade, Colibri has partnered closely with the Rail Delivery Group (RDG) to deliver essential services such as ticketing, travel information, and refund processing. This latest collaboration supports RDG’s Rail Data Marketplace (RDM), with Colibri providing service management capabilities.
The RDM is a central platform designed to simplify data sharing between the rail industry and data consumers. It fosters innovation by improving data accessibility while giving publishers granular control over who can access their data.
RDG supports a significant share of Britain’s rail customers. As a large organisation with a broad and complex technology landscape, it required a service desk platform that could integrate seamlessly with existing systems, offer 24/7 availability, and ensure the security of sensitive customer data.
To meet these needs, Colibri developed a secure, scalable online portal that enables users to raise and manage incident tickets with ease, ensuring fast, efficient issue resolution for both RDG and its customers.

Drawing on its cloud expertise, Colibri implemented a user-friendly incident management interface using a pre-configured SaaS ServiceNow platform. Custom workflows were built to automatically route tickets based on issue type and severity, ensuring they reach the right team quickly for resolution.
Colibri also provisioned a new RDM AWS account to deploy a serverless AWS API Gateway and Web Application Firewall (WAF). This account is designed to scale efficiently and integrate with other AWS services managed by Colibri for RDG.
The serverless architecture improves API scalability and management, while the WAF protects against common web threats, maintaining strong security standards. To further enhance usability and security, the platform is integrated with RDG’s Single Sign-On (SSO), allowing seamless access without separate login credentials for the service desk.
