Rail Delivery Group partnered with Colibri to upgrade its key ticketing system, rebuilding it on AWS with modern cloud technology to make it faster, safer, and more reliable.
The Transaction Management System (TMS) is a vital component of RDG’s back-office technology. TMS acts as the central ledger for Smartcard purchases and provides the fulfilment interface for online ticket purchases across the network.
However, the original TMS, although reliable, was becoming outdated. As the industry evolved and security, compliance, and technology standards progressed, RDG identified the need to modernise the platform to meet current and future demands.

To address the challenge, RDG decided to redevelop the TMS while maintaining its proven foundation on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Colibri was selected as a trusted partner to lead the design and delivery of the new platform.
The new TMS was re-architected from the ground up using modern cloud-native approaches to develop the application, data and infrastructure ensuring the new platform is:
